Technical areas

I prefer to look at the whole system.

Sometimes the useful work is narrower.

These are examples of areas in which I can also contribute directly. They are not an exhaustive technology inventory and they do not define the boundary of what we can discuss.

Cloud

Architecture, configuration, migration choices, cost and operational optimisation.

Security and hardening

Practical controls, secure defaults, vulnerability reduction and defensible exceptions.

Reliability and resilience

Failure modes, recovery paths, dependencies, observability and verification.

Infrastructure and platforms

Operating systems, networks, virtualisation, automation, data services and the boundaries between them.

Operational readiness

Go-live blind spots, monitoring coverage, runbooks, ownership and recoverability.

Cross-domain troubleshooting

Situations where every specialist explanation sounds reasonable but the complete result still does not add up.

A list is only a set of examples

You may not see your platform, language or product named here. That does not automatically make the problem irrelevant. My strongest work often begins at the hand-offs between technologies, teams and expectations.
